Trek: Base Camp - Jiri to Lukla

A longer Everest Base Camp trek..

Among trekking areas Everest or Khumbu region is can be taken as the most exciting trekking area. This region occupies the highest peak Mt. Everest (8,848m) and other many mountain peaks at an altitude of 8000m. Trek from Jiri to the Everest Base Camp is one of the most popular of longer treks. You begin your trip with 9 hours bus/car drive to Jiri from Kathmandu. Then, you begin your trek through Sherpa village, a long gurgling river and across high suspension bridges, meeting Zobkyio (family of Yak) caravan on and Nepalese porter on the way. You have to cross Lamajura Pass (3,530m) to Solukhumbu to Lukla. Entering the Sagarmatha National Park we arrive at Namche Bazaar, a colorful, bustling market with traders from the surrounding villages as well as from far-away Tibet. You continue your tip to the Tengboche monastery from where you can view of Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Ama Dablam (6,456m), Thameserku and other more. This trek provides you good experience of untouched and beautiful villages with breath taking views of mountains. This trail provides a classic trekking experience in the Himalayas offering enchanting sights of Lukla trail in the higher Khumbu and relayed observation of the diverse flora and fauna in the mid-altitude regions on the approach to the Khumbu Valley, the famed Everest territory. It includes a tremendous amount of uphill and down hill walks. So moderate fitness level is preferable.
