Probably the most accessible trekking region in Nepal is the Langtang Himal range. To the north of Kathmandu, the capital, many of this region's trails link to other regions of Nepal, making it like a gateway to much of the Himalaya. The Langtang valley is richly and diversly vegetated and is filled iwth cultural sites and pilgrimage sites, like the Gosaikund sacred lakes. You will also have the chance to meet the native people of this region - the Sherpa, Brahman and Chhetri as well as some migrants from Tibet.
